| I have a gas stove and prefer it - ESPECIALLY when the hurricanes knock out electricity.
When Wilma came thru and 3 counties were without electric for weeks, I was able to cook and take a hot bath because our gas water heater worked fine.
When I was a kid they were selling "All Electric" homes like it was something great. Nobody at Westinghouse or GE wanted to hear the words "Power Failure." | |

| I have a gas, and I prefer gas. Mostly because if you ever lose power (blackout) your stove still works! Also, I find it easier to cook on a gas stove (where I can see exactly how high the heat is) verses on an electric stove where you just have to hope the setting is correct. | |

| I have a smooth top electric stove and I prefer it. I don't understand the romance with gas, I have used gas and I found that cooking things like chili, I'd turn the gas down to let the food simmer and it would burn a smaller spot than the whole bottom of the pan. I don't have that problem with my stove. | |
