And that's why I use an alias on FB---to prevent family from finding me and keeping tabs. They have plenty of access to me in person, phone or by email that I can keep somewhere as my private fun place.

My mother would've found me anyway. She's friends with people that I'm friends with. I'm actually not all that appalled that she's on FB, but my mother is the one who keeps lecturing me about the dangers of being online and sharing all your info with people you don't know and putting your business out for the world to see. She's not a technology whore by any means. She's leery about stuff like that, so I'm actually a bit shocked. I don't go on the shit that much anyway, so I'm good.

at least your mom can use FB... my mom keeps hitting "like" everywhere then gets pissed that FB account re-opens. I have to go in and close the account repeated cause she doesn't want it! I tried to explain that she needs to stop hitting like... but she doesnt understand THAT part! lol

Thankfully, my mother knows better than to send me a request, even though she herself is on FB. Wish other relatives were that considerate of my online space. I have an aunt who continually sends me messages, asking me all sorts of generic things. Did you lose my phone number, or what. If we see each other periodically, there is no need for us to banter on social networks.

I really don't see the big deal, but then again, I would never post anything truly personal on FB. I can't even remember the last time I actually logged onto it.

I had a face book account, in a name that I have used for years for phone book listings and stuff like that. I just got rid of it yesterday, I really don't care for it. Some of the games were ok but that was about it.
