| Mountain lions are generally in the western part of the country, but many sightings are being reported in various states. This summer a cougar was killed on a highway in CT, and had apparently traveled there from South Dakota. Several horses in NJ have been attacked over the years which have been blamed on these cats.
Have you ever encountered one?
I just cant imagine driving down the road and seeing this 150 pound cat running across the road! Or walking my dog and seeing one wondering if it was going to try to attack the dog!

| The escaped tarantula yesterday was bad enough. Don't think I could deal with something bigger than me. Especially with those teeth & claws. | |

| It's a shame something so beautiful would rip your face off. But they do have an elegance about them. | |

| In the area Dad lives in there was a rumor of a panther around. It had to be true as the local news was tracking how far it would be able to travel per day. I have to say, the weekend we were there and the panther could have been within 20 miles of us, I thought about it. I don't know how accurate all the estimates were and I made sure when I was in the woods, I was on an ATV. | |

they say that they can travel 35 miles per DAY! There was supposedly one in our area that was attacking horses, and it jumped on the hood of the cop car... 2 different officers saw it in two different towns... and YET the state of NJ dismissed it. They brought in a tracker who said that since he couldnt find any scat, it must not be here! lol crazy! The more i read about the things, the more intrigued i am... just think... there were spotting within 30 miles of the George Washington Bridge headed into New York City... and apparently that is only one day's walk for a mountain lion! LOL Would be like the ending scene of American Werewolf in London.. with this wild animal running around the busy streets! LOL

| It's nuts. My city has about 100,000, more with suburbs counted. AND I have seen deer in the city twice. So, who knows? | |
