Are lesbians more accepted than gay men?

I think generally people see lesbians and bisexual women are more acceptable than gay and bi men. I pretty much agree because from what I see, they don't get as much shit as gay and bi men do. What's your opinion on this and to everyone who's str8, are you more accepting of gay women over gay men?

I don't know about that, although there's no denying that western society is certainly more accepting of two women being affectionate with each other than it would be with two men, gay or not, for some reason it's okay for two girls to kiss but not two guys.

Its a turn on for a lot of men the thought of 2 women together having sex however, I think Lesbians suffer too, especially when its found out that they are gay and not available for anyone else but another woman.

Society doesn't take women as seriously as men, so if lesbians are more socially accepted, then that is part of the reason why.

Things here are very conservative and small-minded. What I have seen and learned here is that lesbians are treated better by far than gay males. And I think that is because everyone projects this attitude that gay males are wrong, dirty and won't ever be saved or changed, but should be. (Not at all the way I think, but that is the general attitude around here) But, for a lesbian, it is like people look at it as if it is either a phase or that she chose to be a lesbian after she could not land a man.

And instead, lesbians are just smart enough to know not to waste their time with men in the first place.

It's kind of funny, some guys say 'if it wasn't for the sex, I would be gay', and I'm sure some women think the same thing about being lesbians. Hell, at least then you're with somebody that when they use the toilet doesn't miss the target and hit something else in the bathroom.

I hate to get into this argument, because some gay men can be so accusatory and bitter about what they see as lesbians being more accepted, but it's true they are. However, that doesn't mean that they still don't go through more crap and ridicule than anyone should.

Only on the shallow surface. I haven't met a lumberjack lesbian yet, though, who has benefited from the supposed more 'acceptance' that they are alleged to receive.

Lesbians are only accepted when they are good looking and/or play up to male fantasy. When gay women don't allow their sexuality to be exploited, the same guys who get off on them will quickly turn hostile. Straight men hate militant lesbians.

Very true. Also straight women are allowed to call each other pretty, gorgeous, hot, etc. Men aren't allowed to compliment each others looks openly.
