    If you had a daughter sixteen and under, would you allow her to dress in a way that some might consider 'flashy?'
    Short skirts, tight tops/pants, midriffs, eye makeup, cleavage, etc., etc/

    Depends on how short the skirt is, no cleavage and midriffs. Wouldn't mind tight top/pants and eye makeup (not too much though).

    She can't leave out the house looking like a prostitute, but I don't want her to look like Laura Ingalls either.

    LOL!!! I had a bit of the opposite issue with my daughter. She was very attractive but preferred to wear baggy clothes in neutral colors. Though she was small, my husband (her step-dad) often found his XXL shirts missing. When she passed away and I went through her clothes, I noticed that she STILL wore some clothes in XXL sizes. But in her last two years she had started to wear more feminine styles. Never anything revealing, though.

    there's a difference.... being fashionable, trendy but not looking cheap. (and many young girls today cross that line!)

    No. I believe in kids dressing age-appropriate. Neither of my girls will leave the house looking like extra from a Motley Crue video.
