Has there ever been a circumstance compelling you to ask to be re-seated at a restaurant?

Several years ago, I went out with my step-daughter to a nice place and though the place was empty we were seated right by the kitchen door. That bugged me a lot, but I did not ask to be moved.

On a cold day if we are seated near the door, we will ask to be relocated away from the draft. We have also asked for different seats if we are in the sun and there is inadequate shades / blinds.

Y'know, I can't really remember this, but I'm pretty sure that I once asked to be moved to get away from an A/C vent. I hate to sit in a cold spot.

I'm sure I have, but can't remember any instances.

Yeah, once I was seated at a table in the middle of the floor and when I saw a booth clear, asked if I could have it.

Yes a couple of times. Once I was near the outside door and everytime it opened, a nice gust of cold air would hit us. Another time we were seated next to screaming children and I asked to be moved.

Once I was seated near the kitchen and it became distracting to see the wait staff constantly walk in and out as the door opened, so we moved to another booth.
