99% of the time I return it to the hub.

Usually but not always (but even when I don't, I leave it out of harm's way).

I look around to see if anyone is watching, then push it against the back bumper of the adjoining car.

I put it back. I put other people's back too. I can't stand when one of those carts are blocking a parking space.

Usually, but not all the time. Depends on how close it is to my car. I won't leave it in the middle of the parking space, but will push out off to the side so that the next car won't be inconvenienced.
