| Not in our school district, but in another in our county, the Pre-K kids are not being allowed to print names on Valentine's Day cards to avoid favoritism.
My friend had all their cards completed last week and they got the notice on Monday. It is such a shame because most of these kids can't even read yet. Printing names with the assistance of parents would be a great learning tool.
I think it is terrible that kids at that age can't even give personalized Valentines. In my opinion, if you get that particular, don't do them at all.

| When my daughter was younger they would bring Valentines to school, but it wa a rule that they had to bring one in for every kid in class. | |

| Yeah, I get the rule of one for everyone, but they should be able to put names on them. | |

I swear, I think lunacy is completing taking over our schools. Was there ever any doubt? Now, I think a good solution for that would be NOBODY takes any valentines to school, what're they going to do, give the kids detention for it? Instead let them trade theirs around after school so they can do with them what the hell ever they want.

| It's just PC bullshit taken to the extreme. If everyone gets a card, what's the big deal about putting their name on it? It's even PC to have every kid get one but agree with the policy because kids can be cruel little bastards. | |

| When I was in school, I think we had a similar rule. I recall when I would pass out cards or other "gifts" to the glass, I would just write "From..." and that'd be it. I don't know about pre-K, since those kids can't even write their own names yet, and so it would be their parents or teachers doing the inscriptions. But getting into the later grades, I can kind of see why that policy would be in place. Kids often like to snub other kids, just to be mean. | |
