Only on my keyboard. I think it was coffee and, yes, I had to replace it.

Not on my laptop, but just last week I was eating soup (Menudo) and spilled it on the keyboard on my work's computer. I cleaned as much as possible, and it's still in working condition.

Soda, coffee other liquid on the keyboard, I was lucky did not have to replace it at the time.

Things that will get inside your computer and gunk it up real bad are cigarettes and candles (soot). I know ~ my husband's encountered it many times as a computer tech.
