Woman accused of selling daughters to pedophile

PORT WENTWORTH, GA (WTOC) - A woman has been taken into custody Tuesday afternoon by U.S. Marshals at a residence on Cantyre Street in Port Wentworth, which is right up the street for the Port Wentworth Police Dept.

Jeanifer Lee Segrest, 38, has been on the run for two years, according to the Savannah Office of the United States Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force.

She is wanted by the Cobb County Sheriff's Office on charges of child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes. Segrest knowingly facilitated the repeated molestation of her 5- and 6-year-old daughters to a pedophile in exchange for $30,000, according to the U.S. Marshals Office.

Segrest was located after her story aired on the television show "America's Most Wanted," according to Port Wentworth police. A viewer recognized her photo and called the show's 24-hour tipline.

"America's Most Wanted" Producer Angeline Hartmann said, "This is a woman we've wanted to see arrested for a long, long time. We're talking several counts of molestation involving other men and basically pimping out her own children."

Segrest is charged in Port Wentworth for possession of marijuana (less than an ounce) and for giving police a false name.

Segrest is being held in the Chatham County Detention Center to await extradition to Cobb County.
