    Falling dreams Empty Falling dreams

Anybody else have these? Wake up in the middle of the night after feeling like you were falling, and even when you know you've got the mattress under you, you still feel like you're just falling through the air?

I've had them now and then for many years but it seems I have them more often now, and also have them at times when I haven't even fully gotten to sleep yet. Lately I've been having a lot of 'realistic' dreams when I'm not even really asleep yet, I don't get it.

I never had dreams like that until the last couple years. But I have them too when I am just dozing. Like if I doze while listening to the news or something. They are so freakin' real with situations involving my slipping or tripping off something large.

I remember having dreams of falling in the past but it has been years since the last one. Dreams can reflect an anxiety you are having.

When I was a cop I would have anxiety dreams of confrontations in which my gun would not fire or even fall apart in my hand. (No, I was quite sexually active and was 'shooting' alright). Those dreams ceased when I quit the police dept., got in with a bunch of laid back hippie types and sold my gun collection. (I suppose my getting laid shooting did increase a bit as well).

Also, I don't have dreams of being naked in public that I once had (and which is a common dream theme for many ppl). Could be because I am so often naked IRL.

I can remember having dreams where I'm flying but not falling.

I never believed those naked in public dreams, I always thought it was just something funny they came up with for TV.
