Am I the only one who doesn't see the appeal of having bushes and shrubbery growing in the yard? When it's trimmed it may look good but I ain't going to do all that cutting to keep it looking purty. Seriously, what is it about something like this: that you would think 'I'm going to grow that around the house'?

Re: Bushes and shrubbery
Down here in South Florida, they trim ficus hedges in all sorts of shapes.
You may have seen little Ficus Benjamina potted trees in houses up north - but out in the wild they grow quite large unless kept trimmed as hedges.
I am not into sculpting hedges but do like small bushes growing natural as a landscape. Stands of ferns are my favorite along with elephant ears and other large arum plants.

Mine were included with the house. Its a form of outside decor and thank god the gardener takes care of them now.

Probably not the only one but you're the first person I've known to complain about them. At least we know you're not one of the Knights who say "ni"!

I like them, but they are a hassle to maintain. That's why I only have a limited number of very small shrubs in my front and backyard.

They really only look decent when they are meticulously maintained and healthy.

Have them. They came with the house. I honestly don't care one way or the other.

Re: Bushes and shrubbery
My grandmothers had/have those in their yards. Seemed like a hassle. I don't do yard work so I doubt I'd be bothered.
