I haven't had that problem, yet, but I still don't get how it became superior to Internet Explorer.

The only time I have that problem is when I have too many tabs open at once. Also if you have a lot of add-on's or speed dials, that can slow down performance too.

You don't? Internet Explorer is extremely outdated, susceptible to viruses and moves like a turtle. I use it at work, but don't touch it at home.

I prefer Firefox to Chrome, even though I have to uninstall Firefox from time to time and then download it again.

Chrome actually works smoother for me than FF, but their layout is too basic. I need the features FF has, even if it sometimes wanna acts up.

You did the update didn't you? I've been turning it down everyday because the updates are always goofy at first & then my son clicked the button when he hopped on the comp one day. I had to do a restore to undo that fuckery.

I like FF the best.....but yeah, when have you have too many tabs open, it can get slow.

I actually made the switch to Firefox a short while ago. For years I used Opera, and though it is the superior browser, and it was on my PC; but on my Mac, Firefox is better.

Its a lot better then Internet Explorer. I upgraded to Internet Explorer 9 and its a total mess.

The tabs thing is something to consider. On average I might have 10 of those things opened at once.

Firefox has a broad array of features and add-on's that people who're always online will find useful, but it does occasionally slow it down. When it comes to speed and agility, Google Chrome is much more user friendly. The worse is Safari.

No wonder. I've done that many and that's when it started. The most I'll have open is like 3 or 4. And it runs like a champ.

Firefox is a trillion times superior to IE. IE is over bloated with a lot of nonsense. I've never had any problems with Firefox. As someone pointed out, it's better than Chrome (though I like Chrome) because Chrome is too basic.

Firefox is quirky with the initial updates & those tabs will bog it down. But it's far & away the best I've used. It's irritating to me when a site automatically opens in Explorer.

I always had problems on facebook - it was the only site that bogged me down to dial-up speed and it got quite frustrating. Then I heard that Internet Explorer does not work well on FB.
So, I just downloaded Mozilla Firefox and I am amazed at how quick and efficient it is on FB. I am going probably always use this.
IE also just bogged down when some strange 'script' came up on this site. Like I couldn't close the window or move on - had to exit IE. The same script happened again with Firefox and it gave me an option to cancel (brilliant!)
Anyhow, glad I found my problem on FB and here - which was IE.
