If you believe in and practice prayer, do you think being on your knees to do it matters?

There is no "right" way to pray--it can be done anytime, anywhere, anyhow; God hears all prayers regardless of how they're sent up, even the silent ones of the heart.

I do believe there is a "wrong" way to pray, that being prayers of overt selfishness, and praying for some sort of harm or misfortune to come to others.

Not at all you can pray sitting in a chair or standing on a ladder if you want to.

I pray nightly and when the Lord affords me a safe trip on the road.

Years ago, my son, then six or seven, asked, "Mom, why do people have to pray when they get off the highway?"

He hears us no matter what we are up to....

Reminds me of when I got my license. I told my father that being the driving instructor must be a very religious line of work, they'd probably start praying every time the drivers started the test.

Ha! I think those guys get used to just about anything. I used to play pool with a guy who owned a driving school. As it turned out, one of my guy's friend's teen daughters got Tom into a head-on collision during class...I asked him if he prayed before Brenda got behind the wheel again, and he said he wasn't religious...
