I had one doctor who was very thoro with my bloodwork, and she got my permission for HIV testing. I periodically get a free swab test - either if there is ANY chance however slight that I might have done something at risk.
As with everything else with your annual physical it is between you and your doctor and no one else, so why not get the tests?

The question is irrelevant for me since it is already standard as part of my mandatory, annual physical.

It doesn't hurt...but ultimately, I think the requirements for that test should stay the way it is. A lot if people who have health issues that can take them out a lot faster than HIV won't get a physical if the test is made mandatory.
