    Have you ever known anyone who was a pathological liar in general, but tended to be truthful with you? If so, did you trust their word?

    Yes and it depended on the situation. Usually they lied about dumb shit.

    All the liars I know lie to me too. I know one especially who is a pathological liar. I can't even stand listening to his b.s.

    OK, so I'm honest enough to tell you that I have lied, for mostly noble reasons, and perhaps once or twice to get my ass out of a crack. Besides, those who do attain total honesty are derided for being tactless.

    But, like Nick Carraway, I do strive for honesty. Or, as in the Buddhist precepts "I undertake to observe the rule to abstain from false speech."
