A society of cyber- and techno-cowards? Empty A society of cyber- and techno-cowards?

Dealing with others in awkward and touchy situations requires interpersonal skills honed by practice. It isn't easy. Healing happens when two people or groups of people try to work things out together.

Is today's society turning into cyber and techno cowards?

Technology has enabled us to behave impersonally and avoid direct face-to-face contact.

Instead of resolving problems in person, or at least by phone conversation, we shoot the other person an email or leave a message on their answering machine when we know they're unavailable.

This relieves us of the need to respond in real time to the feelings of others. It may relieve guilt temporarily, but usually doesn't heal wounds.

So, what's the solution? Any constructive ideas?

Shrugs (Oh well…) I think the genie is out of the technology bottle so short of a collapse of civilization where the Internet and cell phones, etc. are gone, I guess the only thing you can do is not be part of that problem.
