Can someones smell make them attractive? Not if I weren't already attracted to him.
If I find someone attractive already, yes smelling good is an added bonus.

They have to already be attractive but smelling good does boost it.

Having actually studied this subject of smell, particularly axillary apocrine odor, there is evidence of human pheromone odors that ppl are not even conscious of smelling.
This is why some women pick the 'wrong' guy when they are ovulating because they are attracted to the odor of guys who have different DNA, which is better for the baby. When they are pregnant that same guy might smell bad to them because they are looking for ppl with similar DNA (family for nesting).
Fascinating how much smell still plays a part in mate selection. Of course birth control pills skewer that.
