Should welfare payments be made conditional on a good school attendance record of the recipients’ children?

What do you think? If a welfare recipient has children with a poor school record, should that in any way affect their privileges?

I think privileges should hinge on the recipient only and how well they are showing that they are seeking to become self sufficient and get off the dole. Track their job searches and any classes they take to aid in getting a decent job, and no payments for any children they pop out after having gone on public assistance.

    That's not a bad idea.

I'm just saying, if people have to pretend to look for a bs job just to get unemployment benefits, then people getting welfare should have to put some effort behind their benefits as well.

Too many factors to consider in that. That shouldn't be a cut and dry rule, no.

There should be many variables considered, and I would be ok with that being one of them, but that by itself shouldn't be enough to cancel someone's aid.
