| When do you feel the generation gap the most? In other words, is there an age group (teens, 20-somethings, 30-somethings, 40-somethings, 50-somethings, etc.) that you notice yourself differing from considerably in terms of anything? | |

| There are always generalities of the 'generation gap' but then there are the exeptions - the commonalities of ppl that span decades of age.
I am younger at heart than some 20-somethings. I have 20-something friends who have the advantage of youthful bodies, but our souls are of the same 'generation.'
Some outlooks and philosophies are ageless.

| I don't have a problem with any age group as far as getting along, but I do feel the disparity more if I'm surrounded by a bunch of teenagers and pre teens. I'm just not that......dumb. | |

| Here at our ages we have to be very very careful around teenagers. They are unfortunately for the most part undisciplined brats. There is a church behind us that has been vandalized several times, I watched as a couple actually were tearing down the church fence. They broke a $25,000.00 stained glass window that a parishioner had donated. On the side walks down town at lunch hour they walk 4 abreast and refuse to move for anyone. So we try to avoid the down town area at lunch time because we know we will be pushed to the street. Then if you say anything look out. One of our neighbors is a sweet lovely human being, there were kids mucking about behind his place so he asked them what they were doing, he was told to shut up or the kid would "kill" him. We are very careful to never cross one as their memories are quite long. So even when these great clots taller than than I am come trick or treating at Halloween I give them candy and smile at them. My thoughts though are my own. The problem is that I am sure there must be some good kids out there, but how do you tell the difference? The problem stems from both parents having to work so the kids are raising each other and the peer group is doing a lousy job of it. | |

| I don't relate much to that sixteen to twenty-two year old demographic that much; I don't know if it's just me getting older, but it seems like this generation of teens and early twenty somethings slightly more flaky and - ironically - more naive than they were when I was that age. | |

| I guess defining relationships in a 'generation gap' is also a qualifier. Like traveling extensively with my grandson when he was a teenager (14-17) was really enjoyable but I was the guy in charge. Altho, I appreciated going to all the places that I arranged because I was traveling with a kid and probably would have missed if traveling with an older person.
Then there are the 'boys' I've been romantic with for a night; some 30 or 40 years younger. I also enjoyed their company but granted that is a mostly physical attraction for both of us (these boys like older daddies). And, Raul (younger than my daughter) I've enjoyed as a friend with benefits for over a decade.

This. I was always raised in the company and presence of people who were older than me, and a lot of times they have proven far better company than people my own age.

| I have to say that people a decade younger than me I sometimes find it difficult to click with. | |
