It's a well-worn alliance strategy. IDK if it would apply too much to personal relations. Of course the enemy of my enemy brightens my day by giving him grief but no guarantee we would be friends.

Shrugs (Oh well…) Maybe until your enemy is no more and then your enemy's other enemy could wind up being your new enemy. Like the former Soviet Union.
