Re: Drunken stupidity
I've never been drunk, but here's a prime example of drunken stupidity, that just happened a couple of days ago, in my general neighborhood:

Re: Drunken stupidity
Not really, I'm not THAT kind of drunk. My inhibitions might loosen to the point where I might do something I would do anyway, just quicker....but if it was something I wouldn't do sober, then I probably won't do it intoxicated either.

30 years ago I've gotten behind the wheel when I shouldn't have. That was the worst thing. Never had any close calls but I just don't do that anymore.

I've driven when I was "nice" before....but never completely drunk. Don't make a habit of it and I know my limits. A few months ago, I got behind the wheel of my car completely fucked up. I knew I wasn't fit to drive...so I sat in the car until it wore off a bit. Took about two hrs. Afterwards, I made it home.

Re: Drunken stupidity
I cried openly in the bathroom line at the club over a guy I had a crush on because he was dancing with someone else.
Thank God I wasn't driving, but I remember asking my friend to push me out the car and let me sleep at the gas station. Then I tried to slide out the backseat headfirst while I was still crying LOL.

Not sure if it's the same in NY, but in my state, you can still get arrested for DUI, sitting in your car. Vehicle doesn't have to be on and keys don't even need to be in ignition.

That's stupid. It's not like that here. At least I hope it's not.

Re: Drunken stupidity
Guess our definitions of doing something stupid are different Doesn't mean you're stupid.Nystyle709 wrote:No. I'm not stupid...drunk or sober.
On Thursday, after work, I was walking to my car and I found another car in space that I parked it in. I started panicking because it obviously meant that someone stole my car. I knew I wouldn't park it in a tow away zone. So since I was about a block from the police station, I ran to the precinct to file a a report that my car was stolen. I get in there, I'm filling out the paper work, talking to the officer, and I was even about to cry because all of my clothes were in the trunk because I was going to do laundry after I got off. So I'm sitting in the station for about 20 minutes and waiting for them to run the license plate and whatnot....then it hit me. Just dropped into my head out of nowhere. I told the desk officer that I would come back because I have to check something. I walked the the next block over..................and there was my car. The spot where I THOUGHT I parked it initially was where I parked it on Tuesday. I didn't drive to work Wednesday. So I completely forgot that I parked it in the next block over that day. And I wasted a half hour in the police station for nothing. Stuff like this doesn't happen to me, I'm never that damn spastic. I hope it doesn't mean I'll get Alzheimer's at a young age or something.......

That's how it is here, too. I guess it's because they can't determine if you were drunk or not BEFORE you parked.

Re: Drunken stupidity
Just going thru my sexual memoirs this weekend and found a drunken stupidity moment in New Orleans, 1968. I went to a party after work where I was the young security guard in a hospital (who bedded a couple of nurses already).
I got drunk and Wally, a male nurse said he would drive me to his house in my car and his wife would drive their car and I could sleep it off. I was too drunk to question why Wally's wife took the guest bed and made the main bed for me and him.
This was my first time doing a man. Next day I was sick. Partly the hangover, partly dealing with my 'perversion.' Of course a few years later I was doing guys and girls all over the quarter, so it didn't really damage me too much.

That's stupid if they're using that logic. It really shouldn't matter if you were drunk or not before operating a car. Fact is, you're not operating it at that second. Who's to say you weren't put into a parked car? Too many variables with that. I can't believe something like that is in legislation.

Re: Drunken stupidity
No I would need to get seriously toasted for something like that to happen and for the most part when I drink I just get a little buzz on.
