Squirrels

Do you like squirrels, or do you find them annoying?



Just furry rats IMO....

LOL I find them funny. A couple of years ago I had a squirrel trained to come to me when I went outside in the back yard and whistled. She would come down from the trees and come right in front of me and I would reward her with peanuts and bread.

No real opinion of them. They're fast as shit too.

i think they are adorable... they can be comical like a cat... but at the same time, they can be mean and bite. how could u not appreciate that fluffy tail???

i dont like it when they tear the trash apart! and once when the raccoons were chasing the squirrels in the yard.. my ex hubby shot at them!

Can't stand them. I'm a bird-feeder and it is a constant battle against those gluttonous rodents.

They are pretty cute and they have fun running around and playing.

A squirrel tried to break into my house when I was a teenager. A hole was created behind the fireplace and he managed to dig his way through it and chew up all the wiring.

I was watching TV and heard a whole bunch of rattling coming from the fireplace--weird for April. Then I saw the squirrel trying to EAT the metal LOL. I poked him through the grate with a shiskabob skewer to make him leave, that just pissed him off!!

I like them. I think they are cute, relatively intelligent, and entertaining as well. When I was a kid, I wanted one as a pet. I find it funny when people compare them to "rats" because they don't look anything alike to me. Rats are scavengers who eat trash and spread disease. Squirrels eat nuts and berries and are harmless to humans. They are actually pretty "clean" animals as far as wild animals go.

I agree, squirrels don't bother me I see them often cuz I live in a wooded area. RATS are some DISGUSTING ASS SHIT DISEASE SPREADING RODENTS.

Squirrels are just rats with cuter tales. And those little bastards seem to love fucking with you when you're driving! I still try to avoid them though. Without having an accident.

Trash isn't their cuisine of choice, but squirrels will eat it if the scent is strong enough to lure them to it. They're frequently in my yard, sniffing around my garbage cans and several of my trash bags have been destroyed by them. Also squirrels are carries of rabies, so if you're bitten by one you're fucked. That being said, I wouldn't compare them to rats either.

Rats are bred out of and bask in filth, have crazier mentalities, no socially redeeming qualities (except to tell you that something is dreadfully wrong with the environment they're in) and are just plain ugly. If rats and mice are in your home, exterminators come and set up bait and traps to kill them. When squirrels get into someone's home, exterminators will catch it and then set it loose outside.

all this squirrel talk reminds me of when i was late to work back in the 90s and i slowed down seeing a squirrel on the side of the road... he jumped infront of me i beeped the horn, and he went back to the curb.. then jumped out again and before i could do anything i felt/heard the CRUMPLE CRUSH... under my tires.. i cried the whole rest of the way to work.

I find them curious. When I had a dog, it was comedy how he used to try and sneak up on them whenever he spotted one in the yard. He'd very slowly creep up on it, but would never get close enough.

I used to shoot squirrels with my BB gun when I was a kid. Kinda feel bad about it now.

Where my folks live now, my father noticed that there didn't seem to be many squirrels around. He mentioned that to a neighbor who told him there were hawks in the area.

Of all the miscellaneous stray animals you find roaming the streets, squirrels are easily the most tolerable.

Cats and dogs get into trash and eat it as well. Dogs even eat shit sometimes but I see that you have one in your lap.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that squirrels are no more "dirty" than any other wild animal and comparing them to rats (which are known to spread disease) is not really fair. Sure, squirrel's may be considered a nuisance for certain individuals (depending on where they live, population, etc), but so can birds, jack rabbits, raccoons and stray cats and dogs. Squirrels in general are no more "dirty" than any of those other animals, and frankly I find them to be just as cute.
