Re: The neighborhood you grew up in.
the police called it the "bronx of the township". we were the poor ones, but we all grew up together, went to school together, and when we grew up all bought houses in the neighborhood cause we loved each other and the feeling of safety.
generations and generations lived there... it was awesome... now it is gone thanks to freakin hurricaine irene!!!

In the country (dairy farm). It was a community in Central California that was, at the time, largely inhabited by European immigrants who worked the dairy farms. Very small town. I'm still tied to it.

Re: The neighborhood you grew up in.
My first 10 years were in inner city North St. Louis
Then we moved to St. Ann out in the 'burbs. It was one of those post-war developments in the mid '40s. All the streets were named after a saint. I live on St. Henry Lane.
I was surprised at how it had not changed since I lived there in the early 1960s - just the cars are different.
