When you read the paper and it talks about somebody in the area who died, does it say what they died from?


Time and again when I tell my mother about somebody who just died she asks if the paper says what they died from. Most times it does not, it just says they died, very rarely will it say why, how about everyone else's papers? Do they list causes or not?

I think the family usually writes the obit, so most feel as if those that matter already know what happened. Normally here they do not list the reason unless it is something like, "Mary lost her long battle with xyz."

Yeah, not too often. One of the nicest ones I've ever read was for the parent of someone I went to H.S. with. It went something like, " Mrs. X, beloved wife and mother, made her transition on..."

I'm not sure, I don't read the obituaries often enough to know.
