The Universe

If the Universe started with a BIG BANG why do people think this was the only time it ever happened, could it not have happened before and happen again? Also, why could there not be other universes in the vast cosmos????

There probably are, out there somewhere. It probably happened before this one & has & will many more times. Astronomy is a fascinating subject.

It could have, this could be the first or the 100th time the big bang has happened and there are most universes out there. It's just that most of the time, it's too mind boggling to comprehend, therefore, people reject it.

well... i have one BIG BANG every year during re-deployment! LOL

i think the term "universe" refers to everything that could possibly be out there.. therefore there is only one, and then what is in the universe are many many galaxies.

Last week's Newsweek Magazine addresses this and the answer is "yes." It is now believed that there are many Universes and the Big Bang Theory is just one theory scientists are exploring.

If I were smarter, I would have been able to understand all the theories but they were kind of over my head. Still I enjoyed reading it. If you can get ahold of that issue you will probably find it really interesting.
