| When it comes to commenting on boards and blogs, should those that allow anonymous comments continue....or should everyone have to officially register (with a valid email address) for accountability. | |

| I guess it will always be the nature of the beast. I don't put faith in comments that seem to lack validity. | |

| I have no issue with a valid email address being needed but no one should have to publicly reveal their actual identity. If there's an issue, the site has the IP address. That should be good enough. | |

| I prefer 'Annoynymous' I don't think they should be allowed and should be treated as the trolls that they are.
Of course we all have pseudonyms here. (I am actually Rob not Shale) But I am Shale all over the Web and pretty consistent with my stances. I can also be reached as Shale, so in effect I am a real person and I am even protective of Shale being maligned.
So, it should be required to have an identity instead of cowardly hiding behind anon. Also, ppl so hidden tend to be more outrageous and inflammatory in their comments, which is why some discussion sites are for shit and I don't frequent them. Namely The Miami Herald has such a pissy poor board.

| I support the rights of sites to decide for themselves which way they wanna go. | |

| I don't have much of an opinion one way or the other. However, I sometimes see something online that would like to comment on, but would require me to register for the site. I'm not doing that shit. | |

Ditto. It's too easy to troll when you can just leave a random name, with a bogus email address, on the spot. That's why I tend to shy away from reading blog comments, because most of the time people can be completely random with their ID and will in turn act like idiots because of it.
