When your date on the calendar rolls around, what is your reaction? Do you reflect, party or just ignore the date?

Will not party. May go out with a friend or two for lunch but that's about it. Birthdays is not something I go gaga over, be it me or other people.

I like them. I don't like turning another year older but it sure as hell beats the alternative.

I look forward to them. It means I've been here another year.

I try to be low key about it but my family loves to celebrate birthdays so its never a quiet affair.

I have always preferred to reflect on the passing of another year privately, without any outside fanfare or even acknowledgement.

However, I have had to endure everyone giving me gifts at work - seems the birth dates are sent to supervisors and the CEO sends out a card. (He knows I don't like him - I told him to save the card & postage and last year I didn't get one).

Anyhow, I work with several Russians and my B'day is the day after the Russian Revolution so they remember it.
