    Cyberterrorism Empty Cyberterrorism

Post by Hyacinth Girl Thu Jun 14, 2012 10:39 am

So what does everyone think of cyberterrorism? Ever get spammed to death or hijacked online in anyway? Here's a good one that you'll all appreciate:

This week, I've gotten a ton of spam emails, purchase confirmations, and all sorts of stuff, by someone who signed up my email at a bunch of online sites. I unsubscribed my email to all sites and blocked sender on all, but the funny part is that the guy that did this, apparently didn't realize that one place would send me an email with his full name, address, city, state, account and PIN # on it!

So I forwarded that email to the MSN abuse team, and also to my Dad, who is a cyber-terrorism expert and works for a major computer company here in the USA. Dad will no doubt add this guy, James, to his "to-do" list at work, but I also printed off the email and wrote James a very nice letter, telling him all about how I know what he's been doing with my email, what I did to rectify it, and that he better cut the shit because he has been reported.

I'll be dropping the letter in the mail, shortly, but here's a cut/paste of the email I got, and I figure who cares if I publicly post his information--he didn't seem to care when he hijacked my email:

I wonder if this is related to the Wal-Mart, Target Gift Card scam that I heard on the news yesterday that was busted. There were 7 of them who somehow compromised information, got the gift cards bought stuff and sold it cheaply in other thrift stores. The news said the big stores were also victims of this multi-million dollar operation.

It could be related--who knows? I got tons of emails from shopping sites as well as some porn-related ones, and I just dropped my little love note in the mailbox to James Aubin. I'm sure my Dad will look into this--that's what he does for his job, in addition to building/repair of computers.

The only thing I have gotten was mail from me to me at hotmail. I have changed my pssword there twice that keeps them off for a while. Then a friend also had the problem and we both changed our passwords yet again.

I was Phished twice from someone pretending to be a bank I used to use. I caught on and reported it to the bank.

And a friend kept getting her email hacked into by someone using her address book to mail ads for Viagara. I just changed my password but she didn't change hers so she got me again. I changed the password a second time and stopped opening her emails.

Now my cousin has had this happen to her. Her address book was hijacked and the spam is for a work at home company. I told her to change her password and report this to her Internet carrier but she hasn't because I have gotten two emails allegedly from her. I just zapped them.

It really bugs me when people have this problem and won't fix it because others keep getting infected.

So far, no inbox full of spam today, and hopefully it will stay that way. It amazes me that some people have nothing better to do with their lives, other than to be trolls, create computer viruses, hack accounts, and cause problems. It give me sick pleasure to know that I actually found out who hacked my email and that I was able to mail him a nice letter, letting him know that I'm onto him.
