    Food Ice cream snacks

Post by Chris Fri Jun 29, 2012 4:37 pm

Have you been to DQ, Baskin-Robbins or any kind of outside ice cream place yet this year? If you buy any ice cream snacks from the grocery store, what do you usually get?

From the grocery store I usually get Edy's Ice pops or Hagen Daz Vanilla Bean Ice cream. On the outside I love Carvel vanilla Ice cream. Sadly, I don't buy much ice cream these days but I keep the ice pops in the freezer, lower in calories.

I always get Bomb Pops for the 4th of July, even though I can never get through a whole box. Guess what? The grocery store DOESN'T HAVE THEM this year, WHY? I don't know (he's on third), instead the Kemps ice cream has its own bomb pops, but fortunately the Schwan's man had them today so we got a box anyway!

And yes, I've been to Dairy Queen several times this year, we had a very warm winter, and I LOVE the cherry sundaes.

    Yes.

I don't buy ice cream "snacks" from the grocery store. I buy regular ice cream.

Is Rita's really that good? We have a couple here on Long Island but not very close by.

Rita's is pretty good. They do not have them past Ohio, and I looked into buying a franchise... thought it would be great on the vegas strip! but they would not allow the location, and the start up costs were insane!

They have a great creamy custard that is much better than the normal ice cream stand's custard. They offer usually about a dozen flavors a day, but offer a "shake" that is the water ice & custard blended... plus they have the blizzard type of mixes with candies/cookies. The flavors change everyday... i have about four between here and work, and each sells different flavors --- u can go online to see which location has which flavors each day.

    The black cherry is awesome!!!
