HomeIf you had a kid who was in any way atypical or one of those "walks to the beat of his own drum" types (in behavior, clothes, personality, etc) would you embrace it....or would you try and steer him or her down a more conventional path?

Uh, traditional to the Mainstream American Culture or traditional to the Counter-Culture that I embraced in the late '60s?

My mother's always steered more towards conventional, what other people think about what they see is always a big thing for her even though she says it isn't.

I agree that it depends on what it is, and if I can see the value in it, or can at least recognize that it doesn't do any harm.
