Re: Coin Collecting
When I was a teen I used to collect coins and stamps. I had many 19th century U.S. coins as well as European coins both modern and 19th Century.
Learned many nations names in their own language, Confoederatio Helvetica (Switzerland) Norge & Sverige (Norway & Sweden) Deutchland (Germany). I had one old roman copper coin that was almost 2 thousand years old.
At the time Indian Head pennies would still show up in change now and then so I kept them and Morgan Head silver dollars were common gifts (spent all of them).
I still have a type set of Barber Head coins from the 19th Century as well as my birth year, all of which are different than the current coins. And a Morgan Head silver dollar, which I am not too pressed yet to spend.

Re: Coin Collecting
I have some Canadian coins and some Deutschmarks, that's about as far as foreign goes, but I collect most coins that are 'unusual', Bicentennial quarters, half dollars, dollar coins, etc. Also of all the state quarters I find Delaware to be THE hardest one to find, it once took me about a year to find an extra one to give a neighbor, so I collect them too whenever I find them.

Re: Coin Collecting
I think my wife has a binder with all the state quarters they came out with. My grandmother had bought mint sets for a number of years that were supposed to be for my brother and me but I'm sure my dead beat uncle spent them years ago. Good old Uncle Dick. So appropriately named.

My son is a serious collector of coins. I collect change for yard sales.
