Like Babyface's cover more. The vocals are better, even if the lyrics are almost totally different.

Agreed. LeAnn's version is a "torch song" that's got this quasi-raw quality that's actually soulful. That other chicks version is sleep inducing.

My verdict: Just to revere and respect history, I'll say that Vicky Sue Robinson's original is the best, but Gloria's version stands up to it well.

I think both Angie and the Isley Brothers did a great job and theirs are a little more soulful.....but I grew up on Simply Red's version. Theirs is just classic. Simply Red wins.

I agree. Bill Withers version is depressing to me. Club Nouveau's "fun" version better complimented the theme of the song.
