A inspector was denied access to the kitchen in this Tampa Florida facility. The inspector had to threaten them with a administrative complaint before being allowed to enter. That's when they found roaches plus 5 other violations.

What do you think about this? Do you ever worry about the restaurant you are eating in? Ever had something extra in your food?

Gotta love McDonald's roach stories. I don't think any other fast food joint is as infamous for them as they are!

I personally don't have any stories like that, but a family member did find a roach in her egg drop soup at this Chinese restaurant. She nor any of us ever went back to that place. It's still open, but moved a different building a few places over.

I'm not even reading about this. Of course restaurants have roaches (and worse). I just don't think about it. Last time I remember finding an insect in my food was in the 5th grade cafeteria. If I did find visible filth I would make a call to the health department and never go back there.

ALL fast food places have insects and rodents. Supermarkets too. It's something we just gotta reconcile and not think about.

I pray anytime I'm subjected to that shit.

A few weeks ago me and my bf went to get some late night chinese at one of the few places still open and as we were waiting and talking, we both stopped at the same time as a roach-like bug scuttled on the ground before us. After that, every damn bug in the building became magnified to us.

To be honest, we were too damn hungry to change plans and gobbled the sesame chicken like it was the last suppepr. But we sure made a mental note to change locations next time lol.

My ex hubby and I went to a pizza place in philly and ordered cheesesteaks. It was close to the tourist section, and I had never been there before. We were eating the best damn steaks of our lives when a mouse scurried along the window sill... onto the counter and around the cash register. The employees just acted like it was normal and did not notice--- we got up and left... and didnt finish the best cheesesteak i ever had--- hope it wasnt mouse meat! lol

My moment like that was in a restaurant on a resort island in Turkey, where I was eating a very good meal when I heard a crashing noise. There were metal plates decorating a narrow shelf and a RAT walking behind them knocked one off. I watched as he continued walking along the shelf and disappeared. No one seemed too concerned and I continued eating.

We live with other creatures in this world and it is not always possible to guarantee that they don't get into our houses. I have lived in a cabin in the woods with a mouse that I caught twice and threw out. One morning I could even feel him walking on my back as I woke up in the sleeping bag. (The king snake wasn't so kind to him)

I also lived in a thatched roof cabana in Guatemala where fruit bats would fly in under the eves and hang on our ceiling eating ciruelas (wild plums) and drop the seeds on us at night. Not to mention the 3-inch roach crawling up the wall.

It is life and it's all around us. Like the geckos that live in apartments here in Miami Beach. You just get used to it.
