What got me to thinking about this was hearing some Teens talking about how scary some of the videos games are to the point they couldn't play them. I thought if a video game scares you that much you don't know what its like to be really scared.

I was wondering if anyone has had any scary experiences and how much does it take to scare you?

Uncertainty. No matter what is is; big or small. When my mind can fabricate something off the wall, I begin to anticipate it. And that anticipation is eerie.

I've been freightened by a couple of near death experiences. Just about everything else has been a worry.

I think that qualifies as a near death experience.

A video game wouldn't scare me, but I do scare easily. When people are late, I am ready to call all the hospitals, I can't let my feet hang off the bed, or I fear someone "getting them" or I rarely come down to the kitchen for a drink in the middle of the night because I am afraid of the dark quite a bit.

I think it is because I wasn't allowed to close my bedroom door as a kid. So I would lay there and see bars on the windows and all the scary noises of drunks or gang members in the alley.

This really doesn't have much to do with your post but it reminds me of something that happened last night. My mother and I decided to put up the tent and sleep outside for the night, but we got rained out around 1 o' clock. But before that, we went walking around the block around 11:30 to see what was going on, and most people are asleep on our block long before then, so I said let's go down to the next block and see, well my mom stayed on this block and wouldn't come. Her whole life has been one traumatic event after another to the point she doesn't want to leave the block because her whole life the only time she ever felt safe was at home. And when I was a kid she was the bravest person I knew and she still is but now it's mind blowing to know that she is still traumatized to the point she will not go past like a two block radius.

Super, I am sorry to hear she is so timid to leave the security of home. Keep trying to coax her to venture out more. I can relate to her when it comes to my driving. I used to have no fear to drive in Chicago on the maddening expressways. Today, I avoid the highway at all costs. And the longer I am so weird about it the more I want to avoid it. Things like that really snowball.

I've been robbed at gunpoint. Guess that would be the scariest thing to have happened to me.

Yea there have been a few things that have scared the shit outta me.
