    I've been in both situations. IDK which is more uncomfortable but an umbrella would make me enjoy the rain more.

    I recently did thunderstorm without an umbrella. I hated it but lived through it. I don't like my feet getting cold & wet so no bootless thing for me.

    I don't want to be out in a thunderstorm, lightening you know goes with thunder? I have a pr of winter boots and I rarely wear them. 99.9% of the time I wear runners through the winter. I have a pr that don't have slippery soles so I wear them.
