    Have you ever carpooled? I never have myself. But can't help thinking it's a giant inconvenience.

    I haven't. If gas keeps going up it might be necessary. But I'm sure I'd hate being the "ridealong".

    Yes and it's actually a good idea in a climate where gas is $3.90/gal, IF everyone is coming from the same direction. It becomes a problem when you have to make detours that are out of the way.
