Gaslight

Anybody who knows Gaslight automatically know the 1944 version with Ingrid Bergman, but has anybody seen the original 1940 version also or instead? And either way, what did you think of it?

Not having seen the full 1944 movie, I really enjoyed the 1940 original, I thought it had a better ending since it actually left us wondering if when she said 'knife? What knife? Do you see a knife here? Have you gone mad, my sane husband?' that she would actually stab him to death. I was so hoping she would, if they remake it again and it looks like they're going to, there seems to be one in production for 2013, I would like to see them change the ending so she does.

Never saw either one.
