My job is easy....but it can be stressful too. Just dealing with the bullshit and politics of it. I do enough to collect my coins, then I am out. I don't plan to make this a career.

It's a little of both. Overall, it's incredibly convenient and not one that is easy to obtain. I'm great at what I do, but some luck was on my side when I was hired.

The job itself, which I've been doing and improving for the past dozen years is quite cushy for me (would hate to be a nuub at it). However, the new administration regime makes me want to quit daily and I get pissed that I am endentured to it in this economy.

I would say it's both. It can be a piece of cake on some days and a pressure cooker on others.

Anyone can be trained to do my job on a basic level but I'm well above that. There are deadlines to meet so it can heat up.

It can be both. Depending on what happens to be going on in the world at the time.

Re: Is Your Job Cushy or Stressful?
my job is physically demanding but does not require any skills... anyone can learn it if they want to. it is very stressful though... not just with management, but with co-workers.
The other day, police raided our locker room with bomb sniffing dogs, and tackled an employee to the ground. We were not told if he actually had any bomb materials, but it was scary.
What is worse is that the employees have a "list of potentials who will shoot up the building". This guy was on the list... so it is quite possible that he COULD have been planning to blow up the building. the PO keeps in on the DL tho... not one news article about it

Well then, do like I do--whenever I start hating where I work, I pretend that I've given my notice, and as I'm pulling into the parking lot, it's my last day to work there. And the next day, I do the same, and the next, and the next, and so on, until every day becomes my last day there! Works for me--try it sometime.
As for my jobs, the teaching I'd consider cushy, but only after being fully prepared to teach the classes. The nights in the actual lab--that's definitely not for everyone, and as organized and unflappable as I am, I still have nights where I think it would be more enjoyable to have the hair on my arms, individually plucked out.
