Oddly enough the place I heard about this book was in a 1960 episode of 'Alfred Hitchcock Presents', even odder was for its own time they talk about how relevant the book was even though it was written back in the 1800s. Shortly after seeing that episode I checked Amazon and found that the book had been reprinted only last year, and all the copies were very expensive. I lucked out a while back and found an older copy very cheap, I haven't gotten around to reading it yet, but I'm anxious to see how Mary Shelley's version of the last man on earth goes; and in fact it is referred to by some as the first science fiction novel or even its precursor since it was written in 1826. Has anybody here read it or even heard of the book?
