Any time any family has some catching up to do with us, they come here. We've never had an official reunion, just a couple of relatives dropping in here and there over the years. Last reunion we had was when I was 2 years old and it was a wash out because that was the time all the snooty rich and drunk relatives came out too.

Two years ago, my grandmother (dad's mom) decided that she wanted to have a big family reunion. Good concept, and I went down because I thought it really was going to be something different. My dad was hyping it up like it was going to be just that. I thought she took the time to find long lost relatives and get in contact with them...people who were our relatives that we haven't seen in a while or people who were our relatives that we've never met. It was some straight bullshit. The same damn raggedy ass people I would see every year for Christmas was there. Nobody new. Nobody interesting. Then she had the gall to print up T-shirts displaying our family reunion like it was some big event. I was mad that I took time off and spent my money going down there. I should've slapped her. I've actually enjoyed OTHER peoples family reunions more than my own.

My family has a reunion every 5 years and they are a ball because I come from a family that loves to have fun and that is all we do is have fun. we rent cabins on a lake or else everyone brings tents and we campout for a entire weekend. It is drinking, eating, swimming, sitting around a campfire at night and just a weekend of great fun.

Nah....no family reunions. I'm not trying to be around all those crazy characters. I'm good with knowing the characters here, I don't need to touch bases with folks spread out past the state of Michigan.
