Have you ever had an aquarium? Was it hard to maintain?

    I'm thinking about getting one.

My stepfather had one when I was a teen.

He kept interesting fish in it, one sucker fish that cleaned the glass and snails that laid eggs and I got to watch them develop under a microscope in biology class (Extra points for my already A+ grade).

They require work, but with filters and a sucker fish not that often.

I never owned one myself, but a friend of mine did at one point and it was filthy and I remember it stinking. I have no desire to ever have one because of that.

No but I've known people who have had them. They can be a lot of money and a lot of work. Pet rocks are easier to care for.

I've had one, but it was small. I did want to get another one, a bigger one with some better fish....but they are a lot of work. I still might do it though.

Naw, most we had was a fish bowl.

I'm not keen on having fish or aquariums, I won't be getting one anytime.

Can only imagine what the larger ones entail. I had a small one and it was too much upkeep and finally found an old fish bowl to put them in and chucked the aquarium.

A medium to large size one is costly and time consuming unless there are not many fish. At least that's what I have been told. We had goldfish in one of those little ten gallon tanks. I felt like having to clean that out every two weeks was a bother!
