Naturally all those who plan to keep their lights off and pretend they're not home need not apply.
If you are going to give out candy, what kind of candy do you usually get, and are you expecting a lot of kids this year?
Of course the big thing is always the chocolate, always the Peanut Butter cups, Milky Ways, 3 Musketeers, Hersheys, etc., but I like variety so I've also gotten some caramel apple suckers (last bag and that was on October 3rd!), candy bracelets, and am going to get some other little things like gummy eyeballs and Smarties and pixie sticks and bubblegum.
My brother always gets mad and says I get too much candy, because usually we don't get a lot of kids, last year though we had about 100 of them and I had gone out at the last minute (which on our time means the day before or so) and gotten a few more bags of little things just incase, and we didn't run out but the big pile of candy was pretty accurately proportionate to the number of trick-or-treaters we had. And I plan to do the same again this year because the weather could be nice, Daylight Savings Time is extended for another week again, and there's no telling how many kids we'll get this year.
