If they're not paying attention to you. Looking at their watch. Telling you they have to get up early tomorrow. At least that's what I used to do to give them a hint.

The phone constantly ringing.
For one, a vibrate is as much as a distraction and interruption as an actual ringtone, and it just shows that he wasn't smart enough to cut it off or leave it in the car.
