My name is Jenn, I'm 28 (almost 29) and from Golden, CO. I have an almost 9 year old daughter, she's so flipping kickass!

I just graduated with my BA of Education, in English. I am a nerd but love it! No teaching job yet, working retail

Been in a relationship for over 5 years. I love music, I am nearly obsessed with it. I love taking pictures too (I am always wit my camera).

I love to read, so if you have good recommendations... lay em on me!

I love to write too, I am writing in my livejournal a lot. Or on texts to people... I really hate the phone.

So Jenn, do you have a literary genre you're particularly fond of?

Sorry I am just now seeing this!!! I love young adult lit. It is a genre I really really love. Something about books that really speak to what kids are going through nowadays and have a no bullshit attitude about it... I LOVE it. I don't believe in the censorship of books, so reading things about kids cutting themselves to help raise awareness on the subject (and other supposedly taboo subjects) I love.

I love poetry too. I LOVE slam poetry. I am friends with some national poetry winners. I do not like a lot of books like Twilight... vampires is not a subject I like. Bores me. My favorite book is The Catcher in the Rye. On a broad end, I love books of all types. I do like "real life" type books though. Give me a book about someones struggle or triumphs in life, like Dave Pelzer's series... I love it. Give me some YA Lit books which help me relate to teens nowadays since I work with them... great. If it is catchy and keeps me reading I will absolutely adore it. I love the creepy works like King too. Just no sparkly vampire type stuff I do like biographies too... my favorite book as a child was a biography of Clara Barton. I read that book like 100 damn times one summer, lol!

Have you read The Dark Tower series by King? Many of his other titles such as 'Salem's Lot, It and The Stand are related to that. Perhaps your familiar with the HBO series Game of Thrones based on the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin? My wife and I like the series well enough but we would probably rather he abandon it to concentrate on finishing the damn series LOL! Kurt Vonnegut is another of my favorites. In the years since his passing, every now and then I've gotten a pleasant surprise by the publication of some previously unpublished short stories.
