Have you ever had to call up emergency 9-1-1 for any reason (to report a crime, someone needed medical assistance, etc., etc.?)

Yeah. We happen to see a lot of accidents on the road, so we have called many times.

Yup, just a few days ago. Dialed 911 for a guest who was having domestic issues.

Nope. Called the police, that's a different matter entirely.

Called many times myself--during the 2 year period when my daughter was having seizures on a weekly basis, she always had to be brought to the hospital by ambulance because she'd lose consciousness, become incontinent and have memory loss. We were on a first-name basis with the EMT's after a while, and I was surprised that 911 wasn't calling me to see when they should stop by, it got so frequent. LOL

I've called many times, for getting police presence and for EMT services.
Years ago, in the '90s I was surprised when they called back for confirmation. Apparently the new computer system was on that early here. (Blows all that old stuff of cops having someone stay on the line so they can trace the call. They know who's calling the minute the fone connects.)

Once when a car took out a good bit of our landlords chain link fence. Since it wasn't our property we felt we owed it to him to report it. They already knew our address.
