    No waiting, pulled right up to the pump. The odd/even really does work they should have done it from the beginning! Oh and gas buddy is really helpful they tell you what stations have gas and which do not!

    Oh and Uncle Al, I know what you were thinking when you saw the title of this thread Smile

    Ah. Well one time during the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, he talked about driving his girls to school in a carpool, and his wife didn't fill up the gas tank, so they ran out of gas and they had all the morning rush traffic going around them and the girls were just horrified and they were late. So the next day he made sure the tank was CLEAR full and when he dropped the girls off at school to the teachers seeing them in, he rolled down the window and went, presumably not even TRYING to be funny, goes 'I'VE GOT GAAAAAASSSS THIS MORNING!' and the girls are embarrassed to death, going 'oh God, just go home!' LOL

    And I don't think we have any members who lived through (or at least remember) gas rationing (and lots of other rationing) during WWII.

    That was the summer I took a road trip of a few thousand miles (New Orleans, Kentucky, St. Louis, Kansas City & back to N.O.)

    Of course I did it on a Honda 450 motorcycle that had a 3-gallon gas tank.

    I don't remember it but I have ration stamp books with my name on them.

    shale, i have ration stamps too... they belonged to a 2mo old baby in philly. almost all of the stamps are still in the book. Later, my family bought an auto body shop right next to where this baby lived. was weird coincidence

    I don't remember the rationing, but I gave my son (the collector) the books that were my fathers and mine. There were some of the stamps missing, but that just made it seem more real.
