What's a sensible amount to pay for a hair cut?

What do you think is the amount one should expect to pay for a good cut?

I was very offended when my regulars barber had to have rotator cuff surgery and the new woman charged me 5 bucks more and gave me probably the worst hair cut I ever had. So I had to get the mess she made fixed and went to a new barber who actually heard what I said cut my hair the way I wanted and only charged me 12 bucks as opposed to the $20.00 I paid for the worst cut. I stayed with the 12 dollar barber even after the old one was up and working again because he cuts my hair as I wish and he doesn't dump the whole load of hair down my back! I really liked the old barber, she was really a nice person but it comes to my hair I'll go with the guy who does the better job! She probably wonders why she lost so many customers while she was recovering.

Suzi, that's an unfortunate situation for the barber who had surgery. But her own fault if she didn't make sure the charges were not upped during her absence.
That kind of reminds me of a place around here that was a middle of the road kind of place. I went there and was seated. I noticed a sign at the station I was seated at. It said something like, "Your appointment today is with a senior stylist, please expect to pay more." I think it was worded a bit more tactfully than that, but not by much. I think that's something they need to tell people first.

$14 + tip. Sooner rather than later I'll probably do as Shale does and just shear myself.

I would think you would want your nephew to have a nice haircut to look good while representing the family uncle.

Besides, Tony. The question was what's a sensible amount.

That much? Gee, I guess Joe Bessimer (or maybe it was David Hannum) was right.

If you think they were right, it'd probably be wise to second guess 'em. lol
But meh, 10 bucks works for me. I've gotten haircuts under that for over a decade and I've never had any problems. In this economy, no use spending senselessly.
