Mine was probably what I posted about last summer in looking up that band from my younger days to find out they were playing the first time in years that night. It was pretty nuts.

Nothing great, just those little providential things that happen.
Was biking down Decatur Street in New Orleans and came upon ppl I knew from Florida crossing the street. If either of us had been a half-minute later or earlier we would not have met. (Of course we don't know how often those half-minute non-meetings occur)
1969 - When I was a cop in New Orleans I came across some long-haired Hippie types messing with a car from Florida in a parking lot I patrolled. The car was theirs, no problem but I was curious about the movement and stayed a while talking befor continuing my beat.
1970 - I'm in San Francisco talking to my Hippie roommate about scary dope moments and he said his bro from Florida dropped some pills down the dashboard in New Orleans and were trying to get them when this cop comes up and just wouldn't leave.
I was digging in a garden and found an old dime - It was minted in my birth year.
(It was not minted in San Francisco - near where I was born)
I was biking to work and a car crashed into the spot on the sidewalk where I was 5 seconds earlier. (Not a coincidence - just a close one)

Nothing particularly mindblowing comes to mind. The closest thing I can think of is when I was looking for the 2 books that were made into The Towering Inferno: The Tower and the Glass Inferno, the library had the Glass Inferno but not the Tower. That same day I went down to the thrift shop and found 2 copies of The Tower on the bookcase.

Red's come up with some good topics! I could be all saccharine sweet and say it was the picnic where my wife and I met for the first time but for now I'll say it was the time my daughter and I were standing in the serpentine cattle rope line at the Tampa airport when I saw someone I used to work with standing next to us in the row ahead. Or maybe the time when we were trying to merge onto the Major Deegan after a Yankee game and in the front passenger seat of the car to my left was someone I knew so they let me slip in. Not that I needed to depend on the kindness of strangers to merge into traffic. Admittedly, these were not "amazing" but that's all I got for now .

my sisters and i always did things at the same time without knowing it. One that comes to mind is when she was pregnant and we were shopping for baby stuff. We split up, and I found this adorable baby outfit left on top of a rack in the women's dept... it was the only one...i took it back to my sis and at the same time we said "look how cute" to the same outfit! lol
i live about 2hrs from NY, and like alan, I was stuck in traffic up there. The woman next to me started to holler "Hey you! How u doin?" It was my bf's ex---that i worked with. Soooo weird.
i tend to have a lot of dream that come true.. in one i saw a man die... but i did not see his face. My sister was screaming "JOOOEEEYYY" which is her husband.. so when i woke, i thought it was her hubby that died in my dream. An hour later someone called to tell me that my cousin joey died. Weird
Shale-- that NO cop story is freaky! lol

Even more so when smoking dope in SF. I think that is at the top of my coincidence list. So glad I was clueless and didn't bust my future brothers & sisters.

Thanks, Al, but I am totally cheating. I bought a deck of cards for my friend to add to the nursing home activity room. They are called "Chicken Soup (from the book series) for the Golden Soul." And the questions are just to provoke conversation. They were only a dime, so I figured since I am donating anyway, I may as well open them up and see if there are any good forum topics!

My son and Jay were just telling Jay's nephew this story from about four years ago and I thought, "This may be a good one for this thread." Forgive me if I have told it before, though I don't think I have.
Our friend who lives in Michigan has a small plane. They often fly to Door County on Sundays. Well, my son was there for the weekend and they flew to Door County. At the hanger, my friend always uses his friend's vehicle that is stored there to drive around. Well, they flew in and got the key from the gas tank cover, where it always is. Then spent how ever long in Door County and returned to the airport hanger. Well, some guy my friend didn't know was there and said something like, "Hey, why did you take my car?"
Turns out, this guy's car was exactly like the one my friend regularly borrowed. And this guy kept it parked at the hanger for the same reason. And it's an older make so it was a huge coincidence. The car he usually borrowed wasn't there, but since they looked exactly the same with the key in the same spot, he never even realized. So, now we can joke that my son has committed a felony (grand theft auto) at a young age!

that's great. I actually did something like this. My bro and I came out of the movie theater chatting about the movie, and i put the key in to the car door and got in. We were still engrossed in our conversation, when the ignition key wouldnt turn. I was getting aggravated trying to turn the wheel when this old lady came out yelling, "get out of my car" when i looked around, i realized her car was SPOTLESS-- mine always has my mail laying around. The car was the same year, make, model, color.. and GM only used 4 different keys to open the doors. weird

That my SO and I were in the same place at the same time considering we lived hundreds of miles from each other.

I'm assuming it is before you knew each other? Where was it? That's pretty cool.
