Have you ever become good friends with someone you didn't like at all at first?

I have had this happen quite a few times.

My friend Tina is the best example. I actually was very lippy to her when she tried to tell me how to do my job at the local mx track I assisted in running. Then one day, at a banquet, we stood awkwardly in an elevator together. She said, "Let's have breakfast together." I had already eaten, but agreed and had a soda.

We bonded over where her daughter and my stepdaughter were about to go to college (same school) that fall. Been good friends ever since.

I thought my wife was stuck up when we first met but she was just shy and she thought I was one of her friend's sucker boy friends.

he wasnt a bad guy... we just married waaaayyy too young.

I have actually. We were good friends from junior high until we were in our mid 20's. We just drifted apart.

My uncles widow. She was 7 or 8 years younger than I and he was 10 years older than me. She was beautiful. dressed very sophisticated and seemed very sophisticated, we appeared to have nothing in common. When my father died my uncle took it upon himself to try to find a veterans cemetery to bury him in. She called me to let me know that there was one in Oregon that had space. I suggested that he was better off buried in California where he and the rest of my family lived. My uncles wife then took a strip off me because my uncle had worked so hard to find the cemetery. I didn't bother other than to tell her we had a body to plant and it was going to be planted there where he had lived. We never lived close so it was no problem to avoid her. Then years later after all our kids were grown for some reason we started talking,(maybe because we both had more time) she is still not my aunt, but she is a close and well loved friend. My uncle is gone she worried that I wouldn't still care about her, I worried that with him gone she would no longer feel bound to like his nieces. But nothing has changed we still care a great deal about each other.

Yeah a friend of mine his SO when we first met it was hate at first site. Now we are the best of friends.

I had an online pen pal that originally attacked me in an online forum for liking the Backstreet Boys (don't laugh, I still love them LOL). I read her her rights--explained a little about myself and told her not to judge people based on their musical preferences. She apologized, and we ended up emailing each other for about a year just sharing stories about ourselves.
